Star Casualty is an auto-insurance and coverage providing company operating across 6 states of the United States. We helped them revive and optimize their business process through dedicated technological and software support.
Star casualty holds a huge presence in the insurance market of the United States. The company provides insurance and coverage policies for registered vehicles in 6 US states. Star Casualty is no ordinary auto insurance company as it holds the AM`s best secure financial rating and A+ rating of the BBB. Since its inception in 1988, the company has been generating policies through independent agents operating in the different states.
With the onset of the pandemic, the company started facing challenges with its decentralized business operations. The agent giving model no longer seemed feasible due to contact restrictions. Thus, the company now needed a dedicated platform for itself to facilitate brand visibility, improvised business process, and higher efficiency. This platform was to replace the direct involvement of agents and serve as the sole repository for customers’ information and policies.
The client approached us with the mentioned business goals. We carefully analyzed the requirements and delineated the following objectives for this project:
The project had the following major requirements and we met them effectively with dedicated technology usage and appropriate management.
We got a legacy system from the client’s end that needed optimization and advancement. The existing system had all the operations being done manually. Moreover, the main system was using technologies like that rendered rigidity to the whole business process. Thus, taking an overview of the current system was mandatory for revamping it. We did a careful study of the intricacies involved, identified the parts needing optimization, and proposed a project plan thereafter.
Our major task was to complete the automation of the policy generation machinery and other related processes. Thereby, our first step was to perform a complete check of the requirements including the functional and non-functional elements for the proposed system. The primary functional requirement included the development of a web platform while the non-functional requirements included the development of UI, website redirection link, registration form, validation functionalities, etc.
The company already had the main system which they used to generate policies for their customers. Using that main system, the client required the development of a dedicated web platform for the company. Thereby, we developed a full-fledged website for the company to help them gain visibility and operational efficiency. The website was designed to be responsive and optimized for both web and mobile platforms.
This was a very crucial part of the project. The inclusion of the e-signature functionality on the website significantly boosted the policy security quotient. We implemented the e-signature function to secure the document upload and policy generation tasks. The e-signatures could be applied to the pre-defined documents existing in the main system of the company.
Payments were a crucial part of the website that needed optimization to facilitate security and reliability. The existing system had been using Payflow which is the legacy version of Paypal. We upgraded the site’s payment channel by integrating advanced features and elements into the legacy system. For that purpose, we created several bridges to facilitate flawless integrational operation.
Star Casualty has been delightfully challenging for us. The milestones we achieved in this project led to supreme customer satisfaction and that’s always the biggest achievement for us above all. Following were some of the hurdles we overcame with precision technological usage and a smart approach.
Star Casualty was a very interesting project for us as it had us pushing our boundaries towards creating significant software deliveries. The web platform we created for the company streamlined their business operations, improved policy management, and most of all, boosted the security quotient of the insurance policies and owners. The project proved successful at achieving its primary goals of establishing brand visibility and eliminating third-party intervention.
